Cassin

CassinBarbara Cassin is director of research at the CNRS, the director of the Léon Robin Center for Research on Ancient Thought, and President of the Collège International de Philosophie. Trained as a philosopher and philologist specializing in Ancient Greece, her research focuses on the relationship between philosophy and what is posited as not being philosophy: sophism, rhetoric, literature. Among many other volumes, she is the author of L’Effet Sophistique (1995), Jacques le Sophiste: Lacan, logos et psychanalyse (2012), and in English, Sophistical Practice: Toward a Consistent Relativism (2014).
